Petipa's No. 23 Pas de quatre is danced by the Gold, Silver, Sapphire and Diamond fairies — the 1890 premiere cast all four (Gold: Klavdia Kulichevskaya) — but the catalogue held only three variations under a pas de QUATRE. Placed first by the conventional Gold-Silver-Sapphire-Diamond listing; the variation order varies between stagings and this was not verified against a specific production.
