Privacy and rights
You can browse the catalog without signing in, and we do not know who you are. There are no accounts and no advertising.
What we know about you
Very little. We count how many people visit each page, but not who they are, and we cannot tell one visit from another. Your browser saves two things of its own: which clips you have already been shown, so the home page does not repeat itself, and whether you chose light or dark. Clearing your browsing history removes both.
One thing is outside our control. The recordings are played by YouTube, not by us, so opening a page with one on it lets YouTube see you and which recording you are watching, just as visiting YouTube would. That is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
If you write to us
Reporting a correction or suggesting a channel asks for your email address, and works without it. We ask only so that we can reply. What you send is read by the curators and no one else, is never published, and will be deleted if you ask.
The iPhone app records nothing about its users either. Your favourites and your place in the reel stay on the device, and are deleted with the app.
Who runs the site
Sascha Lamme, as an individual and not a company (see contact). The site runs on services from Vercel and Supabase, which keep the usual records of visits for a short time, as any website host does.
Rights and takedowns
The catalog exists for study and for the record. We hold no copy of any recording, only a link to it on YouTube and a description of what it is, and everything listed is already public there: nothing is private, unlisted, or taken from behind a paywall. It is not a way of watching ballet without paying for it, and it lists nothing you could not find on YouTube yourself.
If a recording here is yours and you would rather it were not listed, we will remove the entry, usually within a few days.
To ask, use the Copyright link beneath the recording itself. Every entry has one, and it reaches a curator with the recording already identified, which is quicker and leaves less room for mistakes than describing it in writing. If your claim covers several recordings or a whole production, write to us instead.
Removing it here takes away the listing only. The recording stays on YouTube, and only YouTube can take that down.
Dancers, choreographers and companies are credited from public sources, so a credit is sometimes wrong. Corrections are welcome, and anything removed by mistake can be put back.
