The Golden Age

In a Soviet seaside town during the NEP era of the 1920s, a young fisherman named Boris falls in love with Rita, a dancer who performs at the Golden Age Restaurant under the stage name Mademoiselle Margot. Rita's dance partner Jacques is secretly Yashka, the leader of a local criminal gang, who grows jealous and vengeful as Boris and Rita's romance deepens. After Yashka's accomplice Lyuska is killed in a jealous confrontation, Boris and his friends expose and overpower the gang, freeing Rita to leave the restaurant and begin a new life with Boris.
