Choreography · Rostislav Zakharov (1945)
music by Sergei Prokofiev
A kind-hearted young woman is mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters, who leave her behind while they attend a royal ball. A fairy godmother transforms her so she can attend in secret, warning her she must leave before midnight. At the ball she and the Prince fall in love, but she flees at the stroke of twelve, leaving only a single slipper behind. The Prince searches the kingdom until he finds her, and the two are reunited.
